FOMWAN NATIONAL CONDOLENCE MESSAGE
The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) deeply mourns the tragic loss of 37 lives following their arrest and detention in connection with alleged illegal mining activities.
Innalillahi wa’inna’ilaihi raji’un. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Niger State, and most especially to the parents, families and loved ones of the deceased.
The loss of these young lives is a profound tragedy. We pray that Almighty Allah grants the deceased Al-Jannatul Firdaus, forgives their shortcomings, and gives their families the strength and sabr to bear this painful loss.
FOMWAN calls for Justice and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths and urges that the dignity and rights of all persons in custody be protected.
May Allah comfort the bereaved families and grant our nation the wisdom to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.
