Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin.
We give thanks to Allah (SWT) for granting us life, health, and the opportunity to gather here
today as sisters united under the noble platform of Islam and FOMWAN. May the peace and
blessings of Allah be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his household, and
companions. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds the Most Merciful, the Most
Compassionate. YA ALLAH. We seek Your guidance, wisdom, and unity of purpose. Grant us
sincerity in our intentions, clarity in our decisions, and success in all that we plan for Your sake
and for the upliftment of the Ummah especially our women, families, and communities. Ya
Allah, bless this new leadership with harmony, understanding, and foresight. Strengthen our
bond with our esteemed Board of Trustees, and make FOMWAN a light of goodness, peace,
and service in Nigeria and beyond
Respected members of the Board of Trustees and my dear sisters in the Executive Council, I
warmly welcome you all to this inaugural joint meeting.
Today marks the beginning of a new phase for FOMWAN especially the new EXCO; one built
on prayer, Taqwa, partnership, and purpose. Together, we shall strengthen our organization,
expand our impact, and uphold the values that define us as Muslim Women. We are guided
by the Qur’an and Sunnah of our Noble Prophet Muhammad SAW; our vision/mission as well
as our core values. We also have defined thematic areas.

Statement of Strategic Imperatives or Goals
1. To create awareness among Muslims (especially women) of about the true teachings
of Islam as represented in correct and insightful interpretation of the Qur’an and the
Sunnah; 2. To strengthen the capacity of Muslim women to improve their moral,
educational, intellectual and economic development; 3. To rehabilitate street children,
abandoned children, orphans and refugee children. 4. To improve health status of
women and children so as to reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity. 5. To
influence government policies on transparency and good governance
Thematic/Programmatic areas of focus:
 Da’awah Activities ; Education; Human rights and gender issue
 Health ; Advocacy and good governance
 Youth Development; Community Development and Humanitarian Services
 Research, Documentation and conflict management.

FOMWAN VISION
FOMWAN envisions a world where women are empowered to be role models in
making positive impact in the society.
FOMWAN MISSION
To promote the message of Islam through Da’awah, [propagation], improvement of
socio-economic status of women, youths and children through training, provision of
quality education, health, humanitarian services, micro enterprise and advocacy.

As we begin this tenure, I wish to emphasize three guiding principles that will shape our
leadership:
1. Collective Responsibility – No single individual can achieve FOMWAN’s mission
alone. We must work as a team, respecting our different strengths and complementing
one another.
2. Continuity and Innovation – We will build on the solid foundation laid by our
predecessors while introducing new approaches that respond to today’s realities.
3. Spiritual Grounding and Integrity. Our strength as a faith-based organization lies in our
devotion to Allah (SWT). Let us anchor every decision, action, and program in Taqwa,
transparency, and accountability.
My dear sisters ,the newly elected EXCO, I encourage us to see this opportunity not just
as leadership roles, but as Amanah which is an act of Ibadah. Together, we can advance
the cause of Muslim women, strengthen our voices in national discourse, empower our
communities, and foster interfaith harmony.
Our Dear Leaders and Mentors, permit me to present some of our key priority areas:

Priority 1: Institutional Strengthening
 • Conduct rapid organizational assessment across board.
 • Clarify roles and communication between National, Zonal, and State
structures in line with FOMWAN Constitution.
 • Update constitution, administrative manual, and communication
protocol.
 PRIORITY 2: PARTNERSHIP AND VISIBILITY
 • Engage organizations nationally as well as internationally such as
NSCIA, MCAN, MSSN, CAN, Federal/State Government, Governors’
wives Forum, UN, and key development partners.
 • Enhance FOMWAN’s media presence and digital platforms.
 • Continue collaborations with relevant credible organizations

Priority 3: Capacity Building & Membership
Engagement
 Plan orientation and leadership retreat for new EXCO.
 Build capacity of state leaders in governance, project management, and
fundraising.
 PRIORITY 4: RESOURCE MOBILIZATION
 Review funding sources and explore new partnerships.
 Launch National Amirah’s Development Fund.
 Support state chapters to initiate income-generating ventures.

Priority 5: Strategic Programs
 •Align programs with FOMWAN’s Thematic Areas:
 Faith & Social Welfare
 Education & Skills Development
 Health & Nutrition
 Peacebuilding & Interfaith Engagement
 Advocacy & Governance
 Strengthen monitoring and reporting systems.
 Continuous in-house orientation to members

PRIORITY AREA 6: COLLABORATION WITH BOT
 A very important and critical area which I wish to present to
climax all our priorities.
 Strengthen coordination through regular consultative
meetings.
 Seek BOT guidance on policy, ethics, and sustainability.
 Foster synergy between BOT oversight and EXCO
implementation.
 Desire to get periodic feedback from the BOT to guide the
EXCO to remain focused and on track

Expected Outcomes
 After pursuing all that we have outlined, what are our expectations on
outcome?
 A coordinated, visible, and effective FOMWAN.
 Renewed partner confidence, international and national presence.
 Culture of accountability, teamwork, and shared vision.
 Members with good capacity to perform their functions
 Productive collaboration
 Improved reporting of activities
 Database that is credible
 Improved work ethics by staff and members
 Result oriented journey by all.

CONCLUSION
 I am glad to report that we have already started putting efforts in place to actualize
what we have outlined. Few efforts include introduction of a reporting template that
shows result, impact and data that can be verified, making FOMWAN media
platforms more active and visible, participating in national programmes,
introduction of financial reporting based on standard best practices which the
accounts officers have started implementing, enhanced internal control especially
income tracking, partnership with credible Government and non-Government
organizations and individuals that have indicated willingness to partner with
FOMWAN. We shall provide report appropriately Insha’Allah.
 Our journey is one of trust and responsibility. Together with prayer, planning, and
partnership we will build on FOMWAN’s legacy and open a new chapter of
impactful service to Allah, our communities, and our nation.
